FUD FAQ | A Weekly Community Thread | Week 2

DIGITALAX post image

Welcome to Week 2 of #FUDFAQ. A weekly community based thread where we cover top question of the week, most common repeat questions, top controversies for the industry and silly fails and trolling.

Top Question of the Week

Why don’t you invest in marketing? ESPA and DIGITALAX are unknown to the wider public. What is your strategy here?

Since DIGITALAX was founded last year we have grown very organically. We never had an internal marketing team and didn’t allocate resources towards marketing, PR, media relations. Our focus remained on ensuring that we correctly built out a strong foundation for our ecosystem and developed all of the necessary components for sustainable scalability and growth first.

After proving out Layer 1 and Layer 3 of our operating system for streamlined Digital Fashion distribution and in-game digital fashion utility and application, and also actively continuing to scale engineering across Layer 2 (The DASH file format), we now have the necessary components in place for full value capture when the conversation with the broader market dramatically ramps up.

April is the month where a larger amount of resources from the Treasury are being directly allocated for marketing, PR, media relations. We are ensuring that all marketing activities are as impactful as possible and still align with the broader mission and integrity of the team (i.e. we aren’t looking to just “shill” the project). By the end of the this month we expect significant results to show.

We have also began the process of building out our internal marketing team and onboarding new members into the DIGITALAX family. More on this soon too.

Most Common Repeat Questions

The price of $MONA is going down. What does this mean?

There have been a lot of comments from the community across this subject. There are a few things here. Most apparent, $MONA exists in a free market. There is always ups and downs, that’s just how free markets operate.

Second, $MONA is a core utility in a long term project. What we are building doesn’t just appear over night, it takes real time and hard work— continuous hard work. Therefore, these short term fluctuations, in our perspective, don’t mean much in the bigger picture.

Top Controversies in the Industry

I think that we have all seen the Chubbies drama this week. For a TLDR on the matter; the team apparently used another Artist’s IP without making any obvious attempt to properly credit or value the original Artist.

It is tricky territory because so many projects see how others move fast and take shortcuts to achieve quick liquidity and clout. And, in contrast to this, the reality in creative industries is that most IP and creative potential is locked up and controlled by those at the top of an extractive system. Remix and mod culture actively seeks to disrupt this by pushing the boundaries of where art comes from, how it is shaped, even what art is. The big difference here comes down to purpose— is it clear in any given situation that the project is genuinely devoted to doing right by creators? We will leave you to make up your own mind, but in this particular case, it seems more unlikely that Chubbies got it.

Silly Fails and Trolling

Too early to call this a silly fail or troll, and in a lot of ways my heart goes out to them because I know how hard it is to build in this space. It’s been a tough week, and working across the road from them I’ve seen some of that first hand.
