• Are people going to lose interest in PFPs now that Loot is the new hotness?
TLDR; No. But, it depends on which PFPs we are talking about. The overnight release with now no roadmap low quality rush to cash in is probably not going to last too much longer. However, the underlying principles PFPs represent won’t be going anytime soon. In fact, our identity is a critical composable metaversal assets— and PFPs are one major way to access this.

Top Controversies in the Industry
The recent SEC investigation announcement on Uniswap Labs is a major escalation and potential chilling effect for DeFi in the United States. The SEC intentions, methodology and perspectives remain exceedingly opaque. DeFi is one of the most promising young industries in a broader economy that is struggling at best in the midst of over a year and a half of pandemic induced strain. It is not clear at all who the SEC is protecting in this situation, because American consumers have certainly not been harmed by Uniswap.
Let’s just hope that this misguided vendetta doesn’t go far enough to push all innovators out of the US. Frankly, if the US wants to survive and remain on top to continue to be the global technology leader, then shutting down or threatening DeFi, Crypto, NFTs and Web3 in general doesn’t add any positive reinforcement and momentum to this.
As a builder and founder in the space it is a shame to see how much they discount good faith efforts by talented teams.
